In ground-breaking female author Willa Cather's 1931 narrative Shadows on the Rock Willa saw what the feminine and the phenomenal prospects of the continent of North America and Canada are when she traversed the ocean from the roots of the grounded, vibrantly earthy heritage of France refined to lifestyle grace across centuries and brought to the rugged, rocky shores of Quebec in 1697, an account of the city's important French heritage. But Willa was doing something beyond daring, and had the popular readers known in the 1930s, her work would have been a shock to the ruling conservative opinions and structures that couldn't see the seeds of the feminine with the potentials of the rugged, raw, natural continent: and could not see especially upon the boulders on which it was being grown. Here is a hint at her outrageous audacity: "And I tell you that you are Peter [petre, rock], and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." Willa was showing side by side the religion the infant culture of immigrants thought they were bringing, Catholicism, for their own structure and comfort in an untamed land, and the reality of the arrival of the feminine in a "Virgin of the Rocks" whose rooted, cultural, refined heritage of the hearth and home, that of the French farms and gardens, rituals, warmth, comforts, caring and healing that were seeding and growing a very different culture but forbidden, doing so radically in the manner just as the religion, but this time very real and connected to life itself. The potentialities of that feminine and immigrant culture came to the land with that kind of heritage yet now with the spacial freedom from class abuse, starvation, punishment, and tyranny--and Willa was taking that step. In articles Shiloh Richter has been writing, she shows how Truman Capote lifted Willa's work directly from the page to create the cultural phenomenon of Breakfast at Tiffany's. But Willa knew how much deeper and further her work went. And now is that time. Willa's beauty and discreet silence to keep creating is now astonishing in what she saw and was painting for the transformation of the past and future with her words, and which she very much meant for realization, embodiment, and arrival.

In 1920, one hundred years to our transformative moment, Willa was photographed in Paris wearing a white fox stole. She is smiling because she knew what she was going to write, and her stole, a reference to the white dog star, or the transformed goddess Io (which is also in Shiloh's name), shows it. In a cosmic continuation of Willa's work, writer Shiloh Richter wrote about how her white Bichon Frise Moonbeam and her little Yorkie Vanilla Custard Pudding brought her to these shocking realizations on her own before she could then see what Willa was doing. That coming together started at a bird fountain in 2010 in the path of Willa's Southwest on the same morning John Mayer's "A Face to Call Home" was first heard in Greenwich Village in New York City, the actual site and setting of Willa's "Coming, Aphrodite!" one of the original stories of Breakfast at Tiffany's. It all brings a whole new meaning to "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and what Audrey Hepburn brought of spirit to life. Now there is magic to be seen behind the iconic Tiffany's window scene of Audrey having a doughnut and coffee and looking not just at the jewels in the windows, but also the reflection of the diamond of herself and what she means to culture. Its magic continues wildly to reveal itself.

And so this apron is to deliver that magic to you in your own hearth and home, the seeds of a world-flipping female course, of who you truly are, what leads you there in cultivation, and what is to come, and with an ancient French Custard recipe to fill your own doughnuts.
